Jr High Community Groups meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:15pm. Each grade and gender has specified Bible Studies. Below is a quick summary of what each group will be learning. It is not required, but strongly encouraged that each student has their own copy of the Bible Study so that they may write their responses and do daily devotions outside of group. There is a link at the end of each summary that will lead you to purchase a copy of each specific book.

6th grade guys: Bold

Teen guys want to be courageous and brave. In an era of superhero movies, they strive to be characterized by fearlessness, confidence, and power, like Captain America or Iron Man. But boldness is empty bravado when not used in the way God intended. They were created to play a part in God’s redemptive work in the world and live courageously for the cause of God’s Kingdom. God has empowered guys to live a life of boldness—in their faith, with their words, to share the truth, and through prayer. Because our God is so powerful, young men who follow Christ can—and must—live boldly in the world. No purchase necessary.

CAN I ASK THAT?.jpg

7th grade guys: Can i ask that?

Teenagers are tired of vague or nonexistent answers to their tough questions about God, the Bible, and Christianity. Just when they're capable of diving into the deep end of their faith, all too often the church keeps them splashing around in shallow waters. As eight years of Sticky Faith research on teenagers has shown, it's not doubt or hard questions that are toxic to faith. It's silence. Purchase here.

8th grade guys: big questions

Big Questions: Developing a Christ-Centered Apologetic takes students to another level of being able to explain why they believe what they believe. Questions relating to doubts, evidence for God’s existence, the relationship between science and Christianity, the existence of world religions, the problem of evil and suffering, and how to live apologetically in the world today are covered throughout the study, all for the purpose of not only strengthening a student’s faith, but to help that student defend and commend the faith to others. 6th grade girls: Ephesians

Ephesians provides Paul’s most direct address about the life that emerges from a disciple of Jesus. In this epistle Paul conveys his pastoral heart for the Ephesian believers by focusing upon who they are in Christ. Perhaps the most contemporary book in the New Testament, Ephesians offers very practical answers to basic questions about the Christian life and our identity in Christ. This study will help students better understand the importance of finding identity in Christ, and will help students better understand the relationship between our spiritual adoption and our daily lifestyle.
