Kellan Peterson, Student Ministries Director
Kellan has been doing youth ministry for nearly 10 years and wouldn’t have done anything differently. He’s an amateur photographer, firebreather, and has played dodgeball competitively. When he was a kid he wanted to be an Ice Cream Truck driver, but decided to settle for getting his Masters’ Degree from Talbot University in Christian Education. Although he loves living in Seattle, he misses In-and-Out burgers and his hometown, both of which are in Long Beach California. Five years ago he somehow convinced Carolyn to marry him, and he is still hoping that she doesn’t figure out that he got the better end of that bargain. He enjoys reading comic books, travelling, and writing about himself in the third person.
Markel Croston, Male Discipleship & Community Group Coordinator
Markel is an alumni of Cincinnati Christian University with his bachelors degree in Biblical Studies, an associate degree in Communication, and a minor in Communication Arts. After participating as a semi-finalist in the Next Generation Preacher Search and in the Academy of Preachers, he was hired as a campus pastor at a local church in Cincinnati to help launch their first multi-site location. Upon completion of his assignment, he transitioned to conference speaking and multiple church internships. Markel met his wife, Brittany, in 2015 and got married in the summer of 2017. They have an adorable puppy named Rory. Markel holds tight to the quotation: “The Gospel is more than behavior modification…it’s soul transformation.”
Michelle has a Bachelor’s degree in Counseling from Moody Bible Institute. A few of her favorite things are board games, reading, and hanging out with friends. She lives off of tea and popcorn. Originally from California, but has lived in Chicago the past 5 years and is excited to now live in Seattle. Michelle loves to travel to other countries and experience other cultures but is also perfectly comfortable curling up with a good book.
Paul Dudgeon, Student Worship Director
Before joining the Student Ministries staff, Paul worked at Forever 21 as a stock room associate and attended Bellevue College. His hobbies include video games, music, and long walks on the beach. He has enjoyed reading Catcher in the Rye, Blue Like Jazz, and the Alex Rider series. When asked which activity he would most like to cross off his bucket list, Paul said "Playing on stage at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN." Paul has one younger sister who also sings and plays piano at open mics and at church. His dad works at Microsoft as a support specialist and his mom is a stay-at-home mom. Having the opportunity to play music with students and having fun just singing loudly with everyone on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights is Paul's favorite part of ministry at Crossroads!
